In 1946, Mr. George Wurz, an industrialist and Lancaster pilot in the World War II, met Dr Eugene Frezzati, a chemist who specialized in cosmetics, in Monaco. The two men started to plan their future based on luxurious beauty products that were better than anything created to date. They founded their company and named it Lancaster.
In 1948, they decided to build the Lancaster factory in Monaco, and with the success of Creme Embryonnaire, Serum tissulaire helped to rapidly build up the business and reputation of the Lancaster brand. In the 1960's and 1970's, Lancaster grew their business to European countries and even as far as Asia and the Middle East.
Lancaster developed its complete range of pre-sun, sun protection, after sun, self tan, and sun makeup products over 30 years. In the 1980's and 1990's, Lancaster became the first brand to produce anti-aging properties of Retinal as a revolutionary skincare product.

Today, Lancaster Group is one of Europe's leading fragrance, skincare and cosmetics companies. Libertine is a light, understated fragrance and is categorized as a floral chypre. The yellow-colored fragrance was created by fragrance house Dragoco. Libertine will be available in an Eau de Toilette Natural Spray in two sizes: 30 ml.
