Smoke like an expert from the first day. The smokette produces smoked foods and traditional pit barbecue by the application of heat and wood smoke to meat, fish and seafood, vegetables, etc. Food cooks at low temperature under static conditions. There are no drying drafts of air moving through the smoker. Product is tender, moist, and has little shrink. Heat is supplied by a thermostatically controlled 500 watt heating element. Temperature range is from 100*F to 250*F. Smoke is created as wood smolders in its electrically heated wood box. A 4 oz. log smokes 15 lbs. of product. Tough, double-walled steel construction surrounds 1000*F Insulation. Smoker is energy efficient, as it is not constantly reheating cool air. It remains cool on the outside ...safe to touch. Meat drippings exit through a drain in the bottom of the smoker. The absence of grease fumes makes for a cleaner, safer operation and a better tasting product. No water pan is necessary. (Water is placed in smoker to create steam to replace lost moisture.) With the smokette, the moisture stays in the product and does not need to be replaced. Inner parts remove for easy cleaning. Wood box slides out.
